You had problems with a lot of other files, so just check the permissions on /bin/mount. Should be: -rwsr-xr-x 1 root root The s allows ordinary users to execute mount (although what can be done depends on the settings in /etc/fstab > I think I'll totally wipe my HDD and reinstall everything once I've > retrieved my files. I've had good results with various windows programs but I have yet to get a Windows program to print under Wine - I think it's a configuration problem on my machine. Other than that, the only problem I have had with Wine is that TaxCalc can't seem to access the internet via Wine. Having said that, it couldn't login to the Government Gateway using Windows until I connected via a modem instead of the ISDN router - looks like a firewall issue. Under Wine, TaxCalc couldn't see the internet at all, under Windows it could look for updates but not File By Internet. I had to file early but I will pursue TaxCalc under Wine and get both the printing and internet filing sorted later. I want to get rid of the FAT partition by the time I file the next return. Make sure you get a really up-to-date snapshot of Wine. Mandrake 9.1 has a broken RPM and I used a snapshot from Linux Format magazine DVD : Wine 20030408. > What files do I need to retrieve my account setup and mail from Mozilla? Your userID directory will have a different name. (I don't use Mozilla Mail on Mdk91 so there are some files missing from this listing that you'd need.) [neil@xxxxx neil]$ ls -a .mozilla/default/gy7o920q.slt/ ./ Cache/ downloads.rdf panels.rdf URL.tbl ../ cert8.db history.dat prefs.bak XUL.mfasl 55856326.s chrome/ key3.db prefs.js 55856326.w cookies.txt localstore.rdf search.rdf bookmarks.html cookperm.txt mimeTypes.rdf secmod.db An older installation of mozilla (Mdk8) did have Mail configured: [neil@xxxxx mdk8]$ ls home/neil/.mozilla/default/y56z4fwf.slt/ 6094544.s Cache/ cookperm.txt localstore.rdf panels.rdf URL.tbl 6094544.w cert7.db history.dat Mail/ prefs.js US/ abook.mab chrome/ history.mab mimeTypes.rdf search.rdf* bookmarks.html cookies.txt key3.db panacea.dat secmod.db So it looks like everything within Mail/ is all you'll need for Mozilla Mail. Omit Cache/ and there's nothing in chrome/ that you can't restore from within Mozilla. history.dat probably isn't worth bothering about, nor cookies.txt. mimeTypes.rdf again should be recreated by Mozilla anyway. prefs.js and possibly bookmarks.html are the important ones for the browser itself. -- Neil Williams ============= http://www.codehelp.co.uk http://www.dclug.org.uk http://slashdot.org/~codehelp
