[LUG] rpm-4.0.2 under Red Hat 6.2
I just game across an issue, updating a rh 6.2 box. Its a bit of an
impressive one, so I thought I'd post the resolution to stop opther pople
getting stuck Like I did.
This is a up to date RH 6.2 box, that recently had the new version of rpm
(4.0.2-6x) installed on it.
I came to update some more packages and reviced this:
# rpm -Fvh *
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Thats *bad* I thought.
I'be had a hunt round redhat bugzilla and the solution is to rebuild your
rpm database to the new version:
# rpm --rebuilddb
And that sorts it.
Phew!.
