yeah - it seems prefectly fine to me and is well within the remits of even
the most estreme GNU ideals. You pay for a service that you could
otherwise do yourself. Also it means they can make money which they can
spend employing people like alan cox to do cool stuff.

yup. Not hard at all, especially when you can use helixgnome and the like
to manage all your apps for you.
..except some of us use suse and update with tar.gz just to be awkward
