I have found Norton AntiVirus 2001 to be *very* good.
It uses the Live Update mechanism.
Procedure:
o Run Update app.
o Click go.
o it queries master server for available updates.
o it gives you a list of available updates (all selected by default).
o click next to proceed to download and install updates.
o done.
I'm well impressed.
